the biggest rule facebook is breaking is: you don’t fix what isn’t broken. now they have a broken facebook and its because they keep trying to change it.
my niece’s rant on facebook is worth reading. she’s a junior in college and grew up on facebook.

I get her point, but I have a big issue with the statement “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”; while a company should appreciate all customer feedback – both positive and negative – the customer should appreciate that they don’t know everything going on with the company and what is driving them to make certain changes. Bug fixes, performance, scalability issues and competive pressures may force a company to make site changes that may seem unnecessary to the user, but are very necessary from the perspective of the company.
Wow, I almost sound like I’m saying: “Trust us; we’re with the Government.”
