View from the Wellington (North Island) to Picton (South Island) Ferry

Wellington is the last stop on the North Island, so it was time to head over to the South Island, and the best way to do this is a 3+ hour ferry ride. This picture really doesn’t do justice to how absolutely stunningly beautiful the scenery is: The crystal-clear blue water (with pods of dolphins sometimes jumping by), the rock formations in the water, the mountains that jut right up from the water, and the greens of the pastures on the mountains. This is the New Zealand you see in the tourist brochures. For some better pictures and videos, click here for the ferry website.
