My dorm room in Dubai was my return to the beloved & efficient all-in-one bathroom: You are at the sink, but turn left and you’re in the shower! Turn right and you’re at the toilet! Brilliant!

Speaking of, here’s a conversation I had with a Swedish guy at the hostel:

Me: Hey, I thought you were leaving for the day?Swede: Well, I had to, how do you say, take care of the Big BusinessMe: Huh? Swede: You know, you have the Big Business and the Small BusinessMe: AhhhSwede: The Germans have a wonderful name for it – they call the Big Business “xxx” (I have no idea what he said in German) and they call the Small Business “yyy” (I still have no idea what he said)Me: I guess that’s nice, but why are German words always so long?Swede: What do you call it in America?Me: Well, we also call it the Business, but we also number it – #1 is the Small Business and #2 is the Big BusinessSwede: Yes! I like that and will use it!Me: Yes!Swede: I wonder what the French call itMe: Le Grande Poo PooSwede: Yes! And Le Petite Poo Poo!Me: Yes!
