LOCALS DAY

I couldn’t force myself into another standard museum slog today, so instead did a walk to see some mostly-outdoor spots that aren’t as well-known.

The Einstein Memorial – You can’t see it here, but the sculptor even seemed to capture that mischievous Einstein eye twinkle. Love this spot.

The Old Post Office Tower – I’d never been here before (thanks for the tip, J!), but the views are pretty great (but pretty impossible to capture in pics). Bonus: It was just me & two NPS Rangers up there, once again showing I might have stumbled into the best week ever to be a DC tourist.

Braddock’s Rock – Yeah, I hadn’t heard about it before either, I just noticed it notated on Google Maps, so had to go. Not only do you not see the actual rock (it’s in that well, so the plaque next to it is all you get), you have to scamper across a busy road & walk up a dodgy median. Probably the highlight of my day.
