
If you’ve seen a Tokyo street scene on tv or in a movie, you’ve most likely seen this view. It’s Shibuya Crossing, kinda like Tokyo’s Times Square, and supposably the busiest pedestrian x-ing in the world.
It’s a place I felt like I needed to see, and it turned out to be pretty mesmerizing. See for yourself →
I recorded this from the great seat I scored at that Starbucks you can see in the center of the first pic, squatting in it for a coupla hours because I didn’t want to leave.
Doing the crossing is not that different than walking anywhere else in Tokyo, especially train stations — walk with a purpose, keep straight, & if a collision is imminent, assume people will move for the plodding gaijin.
