One of the interesting offshoots of thinking about building things is that you start to see the world through different eyes.
Ex: This is the wall in the restroom at The Salt Line in DC. I’ve seen this wall a lot, as I used to live next door to The Salt Line, and it’s where I watched many Nats games the year they won it all. I’ve always thought the wallpaper looked really cool, but never really thought anything further about it. I had no real “use” for it.
Now that I’m thinking about building a web app, however, I realized that it’s the wallpaper colors that I really like. I’ve been pondering designs for the app prior to actually making it, and this color palette might be perfect for it.
Thus, I was now that guy taking a picture of a wall in a bathroom. Who knew all the minutes (hours?) I’ve spent at the urinals there would one day lead to inspiration.
