I’m back in the States, but still have a bunch of Oslo posts in me. A critical one: The ubiquity of Mexican/Taco shops there.

You always hear that you can’t find good Mexican food in European countries, but somebody forgot to tell the Norwegians. Taco places are everywhere, and they’re hugely popular:

Every grocery store has a large section devoted to “Tex-Mex” food:

And tacos are a regular Norwegian meal. Taco Friday is a thing here:

So, much like frozen pizza, having a gourmet, home-cooked Mexican meal is just being Norwegian:
