Man’s best friend is also one of man’s top killers‽ The biggest surprise, though, if you didn’t already know the factoid, is that mosquitos are at the top. We all like to think that violence is the thing we most need to fear, but it’s really disease (OK, maybe we do NOW all know that…). Indeed, a figure sometimes thrown out there is that 50% of all people that have ever lived have died from malaria, ie. mosquitos. And we thought they were just an annoyance.
