Those stacks of rocks (cairns) that you see on beaches & hiking trails are considered graffiti, and you shouldn’t build them, nor touch them →

This one is kind of hard to swallow. I mean, those stacks usually look great, and many of them are super helpful to keep you on the trail, eg. when making your way across a rock scramble. So, if I’m understanding this correctly: Stacks of rocks that point out the trail ARE graffiti, but slashes of paint on trees to point out the trail are NOT graffiti. OK, got it — makes total sense 🤷🏻♂️.
