I think there’s way too much emotion, and perceived grievances, embedded within this article, but it’s still an interesting read that helps you better understand the workplace of today. One things it, surprisingly, doesn’t mention is the diabolical notion that workplaces are a family. Nope. You can’t be fired from a family, nor quit it, so that concept has always been stupid.

That said, working for a small company, especially a startup, does it indeed almost feel like a family, and that’s perhaps why they’re so amazing to work for (for a certain period of time). Anyway, I think the workplace relationship should just be viewed as any other relationship — that it changes over time, and that’s ok.
