There are always lots of Leap Year explainers around the end of Feb but, wow, there are tons when it’s actually a Leap Year. I think I’ve read them all, and have two clear takeaways: 1- The above animation is all you need to understand the why; 2- Knowing that Leap Year happens in the US Presidential election year is all you need to understand the when.
If you haven’t read them all, this one was my favorite this year.
