Meditative Walking

DC has been empty, quiet, and eerily still this weekend. A great time to walk, walk, walk around and take it all in.

Boarded up windows:

Moving trucks:

Blocked off streets:

The strangest thing, though, was that there actually were 10’s of thousands of people around. They all just happened to be in one giant, quiet, orderly line downtown:

The only noise & activity came from the hundreds of police, National Guard, and merch vendors everywhere:

And you couldn’t tell if all the snowplows were there to block the streets, or for the impending snow storm:

I spent some time walking in the suburbs as well. Very different kinds of sites, same calm & silence:

No judgement, but a murder of crows appeared as I was looking at the Capitol just as the oath was about to be taken:

#46’s final flight over DC:

I love living in this quiet city, especially during times like this.
