Local Roots

Yes, the cherry blossoms in DC are fantastic, and we’re lucky to have them here to draw folks in to visit. And…boy do they draw

DC locals know that, unless you can get there for sunrise, you want to avoid at all costs the tidal basin on peak bloom weekend. We forget, of course, and my pics above show you the pain we earn when we do.

The best way to experience the trees are the one-offs you see everywhere around town. The special ones are those you see & walk by everyday, but that burst with that fluffiness to remind you who they are

    flowering trees en masse I have never understood it but welcome tourists! Just please avoid your full side by side formations when walking down the sidewalks. It’s a hazard I refer to as “the wall of idiots” and stand to the right when on the escalators you rubes!
