Dental Thumbs

👎 I haven’t been to the dentist in 2+ years

👍 But I actually have dental insurance

👎 The dentist I’ve been going to for years doesn’t accept my new insurance

👍 But the fancy dentist office (sorry, “Studio”) in my building does accept my insurance

👎 They can’t get me a new customer appointment until mid-March

👍 Unless I want to take the slot that starts :20 min from then

👎 When I asked the dental assistant how she was doing today, she replied “Not good, but here we are”

👍 But she was very gentle with the cleaning, and wonderfully quiet (eg. didn’t yell at me for never flossing)

👎 She didn’t laugh at any of my “jokes”

👍 The office is sleek & modern, with a TV on the ceiling, and headphones to listen

👎 But the TV was showing a dumb cooking show

👍 There’s a TV on the wall, and you can see the x-rays images appear in real-time as they’re taken

👎 I instantly saw that I have a broken crown (stupid 🍿)

👍 They can get me in next week to start the new crown process

👎 The new crown is going to cost $1,800

👎 I remembered why I haven’t been to the dentist in 2+ years
